Meet Paul Wu, who just celebrated his 35th anniversary at PSE. As an architect, he’s responsible for bringing many of our facilities to life, including the Snoqualmie Conference Center, where he took inspiration from the flow of the water. Paul was also the lead architect for the historic Chinatown Gate in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District. As far as his most memorable moments at PSE, he says there are too many to mention. “As we get older, those moments became just pleasant life experiences. I’m very fortunate to be able to do what I love for a living. I don’t consider it work.”

Our Lower Snake River Wind Facility just reached a big milestone – generating more than 10 million megawatt hours of energy since it went online in 2012.Every year, the facility generates on average enough electricity to serve about 70,000 homes. Several factors played a role in the wind facility achieving this stellar accomplishment; including having maintenance done when the wind isn’t blowing strong and replacing major components before a failure occurs to ensure the turbines are working in proper condition. This clean energy avoids about 300,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions per year. Learn more: http://ms.spr.ly/6046Yk5wk

You don't have to install solar panels to enjoy the benefits of solar energy. With our Community Solar program, we install solar arrays on local community buildings, like school roofs, to generate renewable energy that our customers can access. To join, subscribe to an available site and get bill credits from the energy your share produces. Income-eligible customers can subscribe for free and also receive bill credits that reduce their energy bills. Learn more: http://ms.spr.ly/6046YDSEy

This Earth Month we're celebrating the work our PSE Up & Go Electric public charging stations have put in through just four short years! Our seven charging stations have provided more than 200 MWh of electricity to fuel electric vehicles around the Puget Sound. That's equal to saving our planet from 20,000 gallons of gasoline and 195 tons of CO2! PSE continues to expand it's Up & Go Electric program with more than just public chargers. Customers can find out more about the programs and rebates available to get their own charger here: http://ms.spr.ly/6049c7MkD

Happy Earth Day! 🌎Today, we celebrate our planet by taking meaningful actions towards sustainability. Simple efforts like turning off lights, unplugging electronics when not in use, and washing laundry in cold water can all contribute to reducing energy consumption. Every small change leads to a bigger impact. Working together, we can build a reliable, cleaner energy future for our region.

We appreciate the Puget Sound Business Journal for awarding us this year’s Environmental and Sustainability Award for Operational Excellence: http://ms.spr.ly/6048Y6JOIIn 2023, PSE celebrated 150 years of serving as the local energy provider to communities across Western Washington. As we move forward, our sustainability principles will remain central to how we run our business and serve our customers. This is essential as we look to our future and how we best serve our customers in the midst of transforming our business to meet our state’s ambitious clean energy policies.

Our Avian Protection Program is all about promoting bird safety and improving electric system reliability. Just last year we installed seven nest platforms to provide an alternative, safe nesting location for osprey – while installing bird protection and deterrents on nearby power poles to reduce the risk of bird incidents, outages and even fire.
