■ World

When he came to, he was in the Asura realm. There is the mortal world where people live, and the hell where those who have sinned go after death. This is the world that drifts between them. A man chasing after his beloved ended up in the Asura realm in order to save her from eternal torture after dying an unnatural death. But in order to make have his wish granted, he must overcome a certain trial.

Guide, make amends for, and purify the souls of 24 prisoner girls, including his beloved. He makes the decision to accomplish this trial. And then return to the mortal world and live his life with his beloved once more.

The god who accepted the man’s determination stole his memory and gave him a new body in the form of a cat. From a human to a cat with a mission—. The trial was a series of battles. Terrifying Oni will attack the 24 girls and protagonist one after the other. However, there is an enemy even more terrifying than the Oni.

Their pasts. The sins they bear.

The 24 prisoners will gradually gather Fragments of Memory while facing their sins. The time limit for this trial is one year. Will the 24 girls and protagonist be able to recover? Their pasts, their lives, and their beloved—.

~The 24 Girls~

A police officer, a scientist, a school girl, a killer for hire. The protagonist will challenge the trials of the Asura realm with 24 unique girls who each have their own sins and mysteries. The scattered group of girls who only clashed at first will gradually start to bond through repeated interactions and overcoming trials together.

With gun in hand, the protagonist and the girls will climb onto their motorcycle and defeat the sinful souls—or Oni—that come their way.

In facing their pasts and searching for a path to rehabilitation, the “sins” and “love” of men and women who will change the world will be revealed—. Aim for resurrection to the mortal world, and the fulfillment of a love previously not achieved. A year-long story is about to begin.

■ Home Screen

Everything starts from the Home screen.

Battle (Asura Realm)

Progress through the main story and clear dungeons with your battle squad. The story is mainly in the present Asura realm. On rare occasions, favor events will occur in the dungeon floors. Defeated enemies will drop “Custom Parts” that can be used to forge weapons and equipment.

Memory

When you defeat the boss of each floor in the Asura realm, they will drop “Fragments of Memory.” These can be gathered and spent to restore the memories of each heroine’s sins in the mortal world, which can be unlocked and re-experienced with the player. A girl who gains back all of her memories will…

Equipment and Weapon

The organization screen, where you can equip the items you obtained in battles in the Asura realm, as well as those that you purchased.

Shop

Equipment and item-related gacha.

*Some items can also be obtained by defeating enemies.

Research (Summons)

Character gacha.

*Some characters are also automatically obtained as you progress through the story.

Movie

Watch advertisement videos at a limit of once per hour to earn points that can be spent in the Shop and on Research.

Daily Reward

Regular daily quests. Valuable items can be obtained clear rewards.

■ Battle (Asura Realm) Screen

When you select “Battle” from the Home screen, you will move to the Squad Edit screen.

Clear the dungeon, from the first floor to the goal floor in the dungeon’s depths. Floors are divided into battle-dedicated floors, event floors related to the main scenario, and boss floors. The key to clearing each dungeon is putting together the optimal combination of weapons, equipment, and squad characters. Build a four-person squad, with one character riding the motorcycle and three characters on support.

Battle Scenes

If you choose a floor without any events, you will immediately jump into battle.

You will need to clear the dungeon within the time limit set for each floor. If your HP becomes zero or you run out of time, you will fail.

Battle scenes are in full 3D (with virtual reality support). If you do not have a virtual reality headset, you can enjoy the game in standard battle mode. Virtual reality headsets for smartphones can be purchased for as little as 1,000 yen (approx. $10 USD).

While combat has the appearance of an action or shooting game, they are full-fledged turn-based battles. “Standard Attacks” and “Targeting” are fully automatic. When you run out of bullets, you will have to press the reload button in the lower-left of the screen to reload your ammo.

The command-based, turn-style battles produced by this system are “suggestion-style choice-based battles.” The heroines will regularly suggest battle strategies. As you level up, their suggestion frequency will increase. Choose the optimal suggestion based on the situation. Suggestions include “Change Riders,” “Choose a Skill to Activate,” and so on. However, if a character’s favor is low, the result may be somewhat disappointing. It is essential to develop each character’s favor, weapons, equipment, and composition before heading out into battle.

■ Oni

Inspired by the six realms of Buddhism, Criminal Girls X combines original elements to create a unique world. Oni are bosses that appear at each floor that act as trials to humans to be rehabilitated in the Asura realm.

■ Memory

The part of the game where you can unlock the memories of the 24 characters. Various conditions must be met to unlock memories.

■ 2D Adventure Parts

Typical 2D adventure that tell the main story as well as memories (individual character stories).

■ 3D Adventure Parts

3D adventure parts that tell the main story. Some of these scenes support virtual reality. In addition to conversation scenes, you can also enjoy concert-like scenes that spotlight the music, which plays an important role in the story, in virtual reality.

Additionally, Nanahira, Aitsuki Nakuru, Yui Asami, Q Kiki, Yuzuha, and other participating voice actors will have original songs that appear in the game.

*Q Kiki and Yuzuha’s official casting decision and voice actor debuts are planned following lessons.

■ Reward Scenes

As stated above, the story is about 24 characters facing their sins and getting rehabilitated, but virtual reality-supported “Reward Scenes” are being prepared for their post-rehabilitation.

However, there are many adjustments to be made and things are still in production, so screenshots are not available at this time. Please look forward to more in a future news release.

■ PC and Android Versions to be Released via DLsite Nijiyome

The PC version of Criminal Girls X, which has yet to be shown, will be released via DLsite Nijiyome operated by EISYS.

*The Android version will also be released via DLsite Nijiyome.
*The PC and Android versions are currently being adjusted for a DLsite Nijiyome advance release.

■ Agreement with Nippon Ichi Software for Console Versions in Japan

Japan-domestic console development for Criminal Girls X that utilizes overseas development resources and expertise is planned.

Development of the Japan-domestic console version will be tackled following the release of the smartphone version. A release window is still to be announced, and development and sales will be handled by Mikage.
