The Spiritual Journey of Pastor Jerry Branham

Return to the Home page.

Pastor Jerry was born in Ridgeway, South Carolina, and grew up in Winnsboro. He attended First Church of the Nazarene there with E. N. Gunter as pastor. He was saved at the age of fifteen in a youth revival. After graduating from Winnsboro High School, he joined the Army Reserves and served for six years.

Pastor Jerry married his high school sweetheart, Linda.

As a young man, he felt God was calling him into full-time ministry. After years of trying to convince God that He had made a mistake, he surrendered, and the feeling he had to preach went away. He assumed that God desired the one thing he was holding onto, and when he gave it to Him, He removed that feeling from him.

For over thirty years he served as a layman in the Winnsboro Church and held many offices there.

Pastor Jerry owned and operated an auto repair business. When he was about fifty, he felt God saying to him, "It is time." He knew what He was saying, and his response was the same as the day he surrendered. "How do you want me to prepare and where do you want me to go?"

Pastor Jerry completed the course of study through Carolina School of Ministry, and it was during the time at school that God opened the door for them to go to Lancaster SonLight. They were there for eleven years and God blessed the ministry. Just as he was certain that God called him there, he is certain of his call to Pelion Church of the Nazarene. He thanks God for the opportunity to pastor at Pelion, and to help those that may not know Christ to see Him revealed through the church.

Rev. Branham assumed pastoral duties for the Pelion Church of the Nazarene on June 14, 2015.
